Rolls Royce Phantom

Rolls Royce PhantomRolls Royce PhantomRolls Royce Phantom
Innovative vehicle body concepts of Rolls Royce Phantom in the exterior and interior will also contribute to an increase in comfort within the car in the future.Rolls Royce Phantom's controls, seating comfort, air conditioning and visibility all have to undergo constant refinement, as requirements are always changing. One example is the seat behind the ‘C’ pillar in the rear of the car, which traditionally creates a feeling of security and privacy. There was no way to avoid severing the lateral roof frame of the aluminium spaceframe. The aluminium structure for the roof was likewise cut from the solid. To save weight, the roof’s outer skin panel is made of synthetic carbon-fibre material. The roof’s interior trims were re-designed, and covered with original quality Rolls Royce materials. In Rolls Royce Phantom by simply pressing a button, the driver or passenger can activate the specially developed electronic controls, and raise the hydraulically powered roof segment with practically no sound whatsoever. Modification of the roof structure has had no effect on either the car's handling or its interior acoustics.

2012 Bugatti Veyron

2012 Bugatti Veyron

CEO of Bugatti has confirmed the new model 2012 Bugatti Veyron will be coming in either 2011 or 2012. The original 2012 Bugatti Veyron is an engineering masterpiece with its 987hp 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine and politics demands a meaner machine for the next generation. Recent rumours have pointed towards a targa version featuring a detachable roof and even a four-door sedan variant, but maintaining the 2012 Bugatti Veyron’s awesome performance is unlikely to be achievable with the weight and aerodynamic disadvantages of either of these.

2012 BMW M1

2012 BMW M12012 BMW M1
The car isn’t likely to be a plug in hybrid, but a hybrid system is expected. And rather than a diesel engine, 2012 BMW M1 would use conventional gasoline motor, likely the same 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 found in cars like the X6 Active Hybrid.

The powertrain will bundle a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine with an electric motor, a combination which in production trim should deliver more than 350 horsepower and nearly 600 pound-feet of torque. Mated to a dual-clutch gearbox, the hybrid system will propel the future M1 from zero to 60 in less than 5 seconds. Top speed will be electronically governed to 155 mph, while fuel economy is projected to be class-leading.

Other production features adapted from the concept include an ultralow ride height, active aerodynamics, aggressive styling and cutting-edge technology. The new M1 is anticipated to target the Audi R8, suggesting a sticker price of more than $115,000.

2012 BMW M6

2012 BMW M62012 BMW M6
Folks have been speculating about the looks of next generation BMW M6 and one of these pics have been attached in this post. There haven’t been any official 2012 BMW M6 pictures unveiled, but the internet is already loaded with millions of speculated images.

BMW M6 is expected to have a sleeker design, rear headlights closely resembling the BMW CS Concept, and some sporty wheels, probably 21″. It is not sure whether the 2012 BMW M6 will have a carbon fiber roof or a glass roof, and how its hood will look like. The present generation BMW M6 already churns out 500hp, and with further tweaking it can easily deliver 650+ hp, with the help of a turbocharger, other performance parts or a BMW M6 engine stroker.

Audi R Zero

Audi R Zero

The R Zero sports car will be equipped with four electric in-wheel motors as its engine. R Zero's engine will be powered by lithium-ion 800 volts batteries that are capable of releasing great mass of power, not less than 450 watts/kg. The supercar R Zero will have an estimated weight of 2.2 tons (4,850 lbs), given that the batteries will weigh around 1,200kg and the four engines around 340kg, plus the body weight and accessories. Torque is expected to reach 2,168 lb-ft while horsepower is set at around 1,091 hp at 12,900 rpm. With individual batteries providing power to each individual engine, the sports car is estimated to go at a top speed of 460 km/h (286 mph), with the fast car capable of going from 0-100 km/h in less the 3 seconds. The front headlights of R Zero are made from LED technology and are divided into three separate parts, each made to serve specific purposes. The 5 wide radial wheel discs are basically massive. They have been set in low-profile Michelin tires. The large air cooled disc brakes with red colored brake stirrups can be clearly seen from the spokes of the radial wheel.

Audi Avus Quattro

Audi Avus Quattro
The Audi Avus Quattro was a supercar-styled concept car from the German car manufacturer, Audi. The Audi Avus Quattro had an aluminum exterior, which made it a lightweight, sleek and safer automobile. The engine of Audi Avus Quattro was supposed to be a 6.0 L 60 valve 12 cylinder engine producing 509 hp (380 kW), capable of accelerating the car from 0 to 60 mph (97 km/h) in about 3 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph (340 km/h). The exact car made of carefully painted wood and plastic for an engine because at the time, such a powertrain was still in development. Audi made W12 engines were not available to buyers until Audi presented its flagship A8 a few years later.

Wartburg Car

Wartburg Car
Wartburg Car
The Wartburg car had a more powerful version of the 3 cylinder 2-stroke engine driving the front wheels and a completely new body. Exports to West Germany started in 1958, and by the early 60s the car was exported to many countries in the world, including the US. The 311 model was manufactured in a number of variations, such as pick-up, station wagon, and a 2-seater roadster. Many Wartburgs are still used as rally racing cars. The engine was enlarged to 992 cc in 1962 and a completely new body was manufactured after 1966. Also in 1966 the gearbox gained synchromesh on all speeds. The new car, the 353 was based on a Polish-built Warszawa 210 and remained in production for decades with minor modifications. The two-stroke engine was replaced by a 1300 cc four stroke Volkswagen engine in 1988. The sports car Melkus RS 1000 used a mid-mounted 3-cylinder 2-stroke engine from the Wartburg 353.

Audi Cross Cabriolet Concept

Audi Cross Cabriolet Concept
Audi Cross Cabriolet is an attempted merge of a rag-top convertible and a full-size SUV.  At 182 inches this concept is a full two-and-a-half feet longer than the Audi A1 Metroproject Quattro concept, but it is also eight inches longer than a four door Jeep Wrangler. The concept is also 75.2 inches wide, similar to the Mercedes M-Class. The Audi Cross Cabriolet is actually based on the chassis and drivetrain structure of the A4 and the A5.  The car’s height of 64.2 inches is almost five inches taller than the A4 convertible. A 3.0 liter, 240 horsepower TDI engine with 369 ft-lb of torque gives this new breed of crossover its muscle, while the quattro permanent four-wheel-drive system gives it some all-terrain capabilities.  21-inch wheels are found on this concept, which also comes with electric ride height adjustment. The Audi Cross Cabriolet quattro gets an average of over 32 mpg on diesel. Audi has combined Google Earth with its own navigation system. The all-LED exterior lighting (headlights, taillights, turn signals, etc.) is a nice touch.  Underbody guard and metal running boards should help this vehicle travel across sand, gravel, or rock.

Lotus Elise R

Lotus Elise R

The Lotus Elise is a two seat, rear-wheel drive, mid-engined roadster  conceived in early 1994 and released in September 1996 by the English manufacturer Lotus Cars. The roadster is capable of speeds up to 240 km/h (150 mph).  The Elise was named after Elisa, the granddaughter of Romano Artioli who was chairman of Lotus at the time of the car's launch. Two more track-focused models, the 135R and Sport 190 were available with 135 bhp (101 kW; 137 PS) and 192 bhp (143 kW; 195 PS) respectively. These also came with associated handling upgrades such as Lotus Sport Suspension and wider wheels with Yokohama Advan A048 tyres. In certain markets, the 135R was replaced by the "Sport 111", which was similar, apart from sporting the 156 bhp (116 kW; 158 PS) VVC engine in place of the 135 bhp (101 kW; 137 PS) tuned K-series.

Pagani Zonda R

Pagani Zonda R

While we certainly cannot say the Zonda F lacks performance figures, driving around the Nürburgring in 7:32 and achieving lateral G forces of almost 1.5 G, it is however a road car, easy to drive, intuitive and setting the benchmark for comfort, safety and lightweight. In September 2006 the first drawings were ready, but it was crucial to have the support of Mercedes-AMG for a high revving engine with a power output of 750hp, dry sump, light and with a low centre of gravity. The wheelbase has grown by 47mm, the overall length by 394 mm and the track is increased by 50mm.This self-supporting engine with 750 hp at 8000 rpm and 710 Nm of torque carries a lightweight carbon fibre highperformance intake system, a racing multiple disc sintered clutch and Formula 1 style exhaust system, hydroformed in Inconel 625 and ceramic coated for optimal heat dissipation.

The 5.0-liter engine also will continue to be highlighted in the Mustang Boss 302R running in the Grand-Am Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race series.Available in only two models originally, the 1964 ½ as it was dubbed, came as either a coupe or a convertible. Both of these models showcased a lengthened hood, a shortened rear deck, chrome grille with a running horse, full wheel covers and chrome wrap-around bumpers. A characteristic standard on the Mustang for years was the three taillights on both sides.  Three-speed automatic was optional, while four-speed manual transmissions were standard behind all engines. The 2.8-liter V6 and the 5.0-liter V8 were both deleted from the line, while the only six available was the pathetic 3.3-liter straight six.

Peugeot Hoggar

Peugeot Hoggar

The Peugeot Hoggar will be launched in Brazil on 15th May 2010, in three equipment levels and two Flex Fuel engine options: 1.4 and 1.6.The Peugeot Hoggar is evidence of the company's international ambitions and confirmation that Peugeot is speeding up its new product launch strategy. The  Peugeot Hoggar project is also notable for having produced a well-balanced compact pick-up, with good interior space and the largest load space in its segment, with a volume of 1,151 litres, able to take a live load of 742 kg.While it is the range entry model, the X-Line pick-up, with a working vocation, is equipped with the Flex 8V 1.4 (1,360 cc) engine, developing maximum power of 82 h.p. when operating on alcohol and 80 h.p. on petrol, at 5,250 rpm. It is economic, with maximum torque of 12.85 mkg at 3,250 rpm, whatever fuel is used. The X-Line version has a front bumper in body colour, a gear lever knob with imitation aluminium details, and 14 inch steel wheels. In addition, there is the "follow me home" system (rear lights and dipped headlights can stay on for 30 seconds after the vehicle is locked), a socket ready to take audio equipment and four-speed forced-air ventilation. They support two dual position transverse bars that can hold certain items and can take a maximum weight of 70 kg.The high-end version, the Escapade, is equipped with the Flex 1.6 (1,587 cc) engine which develops maximum power of 113 h.p. on alcohol and 110 h.p. on petrol at 5,600 rpm, with 15.5 mkg maximum torque at 4,000 rpm in alcohol mode.

Mercedes SLS AMG

Mercedes SLS AMG

The styling of the new Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is not only very special because of the exclusive gullwing doors. The E-SELECT shift lever, whose styling recalls the thrust control of a jet, controls the AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed sports transmission. All the controls are made out of solid metal, with a high-sheen Silver Shadow surface. At the design stage great attention was paid to the widest possible opening angle - it is a full 70 degrees. Equally importantly, the distance between the open doors and the road surface is a generous 1.50 metres, while the entry aperture between the open doors and the upper edge of the door sills measures no less than 1.08 metres. The entrance height, i.e. the distance between the road surface and the upper edge of the door sills is a very low 45 centimetres. The feeling of comfortable spaciousness is in large measure due to the generous shoulder-room of 1483 millimetres and elbow room of no less than 1606 millimetres. The luggage compartment can hold up to 176 litres. The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG is also breaking the mould when it comes to the body concept: for the first time, Mercedes-Benz and AMG are presenting a car with an aluminium chassis and body. Compared with the traditional steel design, this results in a significant weight saving, clearly illustrated in the DIN kerb weight of 1620 kilograms.45 percent of the intelligent, weight-optimised aluminium spaceframe is made out of aluminium sections, 31 percent out of aluminium sheet, 20 percent out of aluminium cast and 4 percent out of steel. Maximum occupant safety requires the use of ultra-high-strength, heat-formed steel in the A-pillars. The bodyshell weighs 241 kilograms - an absolute benchmark in the super sports car segment when compared with the peak output of 420 kW/571 hp.

The Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG consumes 13.2 litres per 100 kilometres (combined, provisional figure), earning it a place at the top of the competitor rankings. Efficiency-enhancing measures include the familiar AMG-exclusive, friction-optimised twin-wire-arc-sprayed coating on the cylinder walls as well as the on-demand, map-optimised oil supply and intelligent generator management: during the engine's overrun phases and braking, kinetic energy is used to charge the battery, rather than being wasted by simply generating heat.

Peugeot 4002

Peugeot 4002

The Peugeot introduced a web-based amateur style competition at the 2002 Paris Motor Show[1], inviting aspiring designers to create a completely unhinged retro-futurist design that incorporated distinct styling features of a historic Peugeot model.A total of 2800 proposals from 90 countries were registered, and Stephen Schulze, a 32-year-old German graphic artist, was selected as the winner. It featured a body of aluminum and fiberglass, and 21-inch wheels.[2]  The 4002 incorporated headlights hidden behind the grille itself, as a stylistic nod to the streamlined Peugeot 402 from 1936. As merely a show car, it was not powered and not road-legal. As a styling experiment and supremely daring[3].

Audi TTS Coupe

Audi TTS Coupe

The Audi TTS Coupe, both in Coupé and Roadster body styles, combines enthralling sportiness with cultivated comfort. Its two-liter TFSI with the large turbocharger and numerous additional modifications pumps out 200 kW (272 hp) and 350 Nm (258.15 lb-ft) of torque, the latter from 2,500 to 5,000 rpm. With the optional six-speed S tronic, the Audi TTS Coupé sprints from zero to 100 km/h (62.14 mph) in 5.2 seconds and accelerates all the way to an electronically governed top speed of 250 km/h (155.34 mph). The Audi TTS Coupe with the S tronic consumes an average of only 7.7 liters of fuel per 100 km (30.55 US mpg).

18-inch wheels with 245/40-series tires, the Audi magnetic ride adaptive shock absorber system, the Sport button and a powerful brake system with four internally ventilated discs make the Audi TTS Coupe extremely dynamic. The body, which has been lowered 10 millimeters (0.39 in) versus the volume model, was given a series of design updates. It extends automatically at 120 km/h (74.56 mph) and retracts again below 80 km/h (49.71 mph). The driver can also activate it at any time via a switch.

Audi TTS Coupe underbody is nearly completely smooth, which improves the flow of air around the car. Both body styles have grown 9 millimeters (0.35 in) and now measure 4,187 millimeters (13.74 ft) in length. The width of 1,842 millimeters (6.04 ft) and the height of 1,352 millimeters (4.44 ft) and 1,357 millimeters (4.45 ft) for the Coupé and Roadster, respectively, remain unchanged. The wheelbase measures 2,468 millimeters (8.10 ft).

Porsche 911 GT3

Porsche 911 GT3

The new GT3 is naturally built for superior safety even at very high speeds. The six-speed manual gearbox now provides shorter transmission ratio increments, taking the extended rev-range of the GT3 engine into account. On the road or track, this means acceleration from 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 4.3 seconds, with the GT3 charging on to 99 mph (160 km/h) in 8.7 seconds. Top speed is 310 km/h or 193 mph. This is aided in particular by the car's low weight of 3076 pounds (1395 kilos), the dedicated tuning of the PASM, the increased performance of the brakes, and the new sport tires. On the track this means even faster lap times, while in everyday motoring this equates to supreme active safety.

IMPROVED AERODYNAMIC BALANCE

Developing a specific output of 115.3 bhp per liter, this power unit ranks at the top of all normally-aspirated engines in cars currently homologated for road use. This performance is the result of a consistent, far-reaching process of ongoing development seeking to increase engine output without increasing the size of the engine itself. Displacing exactly 3.6 liters, the six-cylinder featured in the new Porsche 911 GT3 capitalizes on the displacement limit allowed in its category of motorsport, developing 415 bhp at 7600 rpm and reaching a maximum engine speed of 8400 revs. Peak torque, in turn, is 300 lb-ft at 5500 rpm.

By comparison, the former Porsche 911 GT3 developed maximum output of 381 bhp at 7400 rpm and peak torque of 284 lb-ft at 5000 rpm.

The big advantage of the new system is that intake camshaft adjustment is now up from 45-degrees to 52-degrees, further enhancing the engine's qualities in terms of output, torque and emission management. The intake camshafts have also been revised, with intake valve stroke increased by 0.4 millimeters over the previous model to 12.7mm

The festival of Toro Embolado involves putting flammable material on a bull’s horns, lighting them on fire and then releasing the bull into the streets, which sounds more akin to the Lamborghinis of yesteryear. The car could indicate the future styling for an entry-level Lamborghini.

Pininfarina Sintesi

The basic theme of Pininfarina Sintesi is a continuous looped surface that, starting from the front wing, stretches along the side of the car, naturally blends into the rear fender and then turns around the side window to dive back under the front wing. Like a Moebius ring, uniting the inside and outside of the car. The four doors open independently. The aerodynamic under body allow to reach an exc6ellent CX value of 0,272 The rear lights incorporate not only the newest LED Osram technology but also cameras and sensors and visually connects the rear to the side by underlining the central axis. The instrument panel of Pininfarina Sintesi is designed as one integrated semi-transparent piece, deriving its richness from a sophisticated play of light that serves as a visual feedback for the different functions. A kind of network capable of rendering "transparent" the communication systems of individual cars and guaranteeing safe, efficient mobility. The user interface will be highly intuitive, it will use a language - created by Pi Shurlok - made of lights and colors capable of being immediately understood by the driver with no signs or icons in the way. All the information currently provided by the infrastructures (traffic lights, road signals) will be displayed inside the vehicle.Pininfarina Sintesi will communicate with other cars and will be able to select the best route.
